|Recommended: YesOverall Neutral — We have enjoyed our experience here, especially as new residences so far. Overall, very quiet neighborhood, seems to be respectful neighbors for the most part, very dog friendly, and the office staff is super kind and very attentive. The only part I have not been able to work through is the immense heavy marijuana smell seeping into our apartment from another neighbor regularly. It is on such a regular basis, our whole apartment smells like it as soon as you enter our place, and it is even more heavily apparent in our laundry room. Mostly upset about having to deal with that on a regular basis, and working to trust the complex to address it as we have reached out twice, however the smoke smell is still there. I am at a loss of what to do at this point, as both my husband and I work in industries where we cannot have our cloths smelling like marijuana. That would be our only large and main concern to have us look to move elsewhere when our lease is up. Other than that, we are very happy with our experience so far.

|Recommended: YesFriendly and comfortable living — This complex is a very friendly and homey place. The area is just north of all the chaos of living in Phoenix, AZ but not too far to commute south. I love hearing the kids playing outside and I also just enjoy the amenities offered here along with how quick maintenance is to fix any problems we have if any .

|Recommended: YesSafe Apartment Complex, many conveniences nearby, responsive staff maintenance crew, but expensive — The apartment complex is safe with many nearby conveniences. Within walking distance there is a Fry's Grocery store. Around the area you have In-n-Out burger, home depot, Walmart, and the Norterra Shopping Center. Every month the apartment hosts happy hour events and the pool jacuzzi is open 24 7.
The layout of the apartments is nice and the maintenance staff respond quickly to any requests. Everything is handled through the online portal making monthly rental payments and maintenance inquiries easy.
The reason I did not give 5 stars in every category is because of the following
1. There have been a number of appliances that have broken in our apartment. The maintenance staff were quick to resolve them. But considering we were the original tenants and the apartments are less than two years old, it's kind of sad when the dishwasher breaks four times.
2. The flooring was not installed correctly causing it to bubble up in places. I've heard this has happened in many other units too.
3. Doors took a lot of maintenance as they would warp and get stuck when the humidity changed. I still see them working on doors for other units to this day.
The good news is that most of these issues happened during our first year at the apartment. Hopefully in the future these kinds of things will become less frequent.
The grounds are clean but I wish the complex would let plants and trees fill out more. I'm sure if I asked the staff why they turn all of the bushes into lolipops they would say it promotes growth but that isn't entirely true. While occasionally trimming a bush or tree is good for it, doing it every 3-6 months and keeping the plants in tiny lolipop shapes defeats the purpose of having a plant to begin with. We live in Phoenix. It's hot. There is dirt everywhere. Over in Scottsdale I've seen garden apartments. I don't expect that kind of look at Acero but at least let the plants fill out a bit so that we can get more shade and more green. Pro tip. If you actually let your plants fill out more and only did mild maintenance you wouldn't need to hire landscapers so often and you would actually save money. Maybe hire landscapers that can do more than just chop down plants. Anybody can do that. Hire either a master gardener or arborist. They actually take care in how a tree and bush is trimmed and will make it look their best.
Finally my biggest complaint is that every year the apartment forces you to sign a new lease. Yes you can go month to month but who can afford that Every year the lease amount increases which means eventually you get priced out of living at Acero. Next year we hope to get out of renting altogether specifically for this reason. Rent is already my largest bill and the fact it always goes up every year is soul crushing. But what can you expect from a corporate-run apartment complex They want to squeeze every dime out of you for maximum profits.
Overall Acero is not a bad place. As I said before it is a safe community surrounded by safe neighborhoods... if you can afford it, I highly recommend living here but I don't think it is worth staying in apartment living forever considering they will forever increase rent until you have no choice but to move.

Safe, clean and amazing amenities Only drawback prepare to live with excessive dog barking at times. It is a pet-friendly property and dogs are winning here.
